I know I need to do my own research too, but was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice area to stay in Milan?

I will be there for 4 days attending a conference at the Milano Congressi. Is transport easy/cheap enough or should I stay closer and walk?

Hotels in the city centre can be quite expensive, we stayed a bit further out, the metro is really cheap and so easy and quick to use. See if you can stay near Navigli, lots of bars and restaurants canalside and cheaper for food and drinks than in the city centre.
