Egypt in 2018?

Hubby and I have found a fab holiday to Egypt this year - Hurghada and a Nile cruise. Obvs there's been some trouble in recent years, so I was wondering if anyone has been recently and can let me know their thoughts? We've spoken to a few mates who have said they wouldn't risk it but keen to hear from people who have been?

TIA!

I go several times a year for work - I would. Hurghada I can take or leave, frankly, but generally, security around tourist areas is super-tight, and the exchange rate means you can get a lot more for your money. Wrt the Nile cruise, you'll find you are fighting off far fewer tourists at the sight, as there's a fraction of the boats running at the moment. Have a lovely trip!

We just got back from hurghada 3 weeks ago. I found it as safe as any other place I have been.

You are as likely to be a victim of a terror attack in England as anywhere else.

Hurghada airport had lots of security measures.
