Stop over between Barcelona and Biarritz

I am driving between Barcelona and Biarritz in the height of summer in a 1970's camper van. Can anyone suggest somewhere funky to break the journey?

I will also be driving between Le Havre and Lyon, same issue... stop over suggestions welcome.

If your camper van is anything like ours, you may be taking a roundabout route avoiding the steepest climbs in the Pyrenees! So I would plot your route and then look at places on the way to stay.....

@BeachyUmbrella Sounds like you have experience... I was hoping that travelling via Zaragoza and Pampelona would avoid the mountains, but possibly Huesca..

I would be grateful for any advice....

I'm sorry I haven't done that route, but we tend to map out a route on smaller roads, looking for local places to stop for picnic lunches.

Happy to bump for you in case others who have done that route....
