Jet2 Baggage

We're flying with them, just read something on their website under the questions about baggage & it states that if you arrive at the airport without having checked in your cabin and hold luggage you will be charged £45 per item! Have I read this correctly?

Haven't been away for 6 yrs so is this something new? Checking in cabin & hold baggage online? How?!

Have you booked a holiday? Package holidays may come with a baggage allowance included. If you wanted extra baggage or to check your hand luggage into the hold than that's when you would get charged

If it's not a package, just flights you have booked, you need to pay to check in your bags. It's cheaper to do it in advance than in the airport. You can do it under manage your booking on the website or give them a ring. They are really helpful.

It could be if you prepay your baggage its cheaper to do it online, either on booking (cabin baggage is free, a hold bag costs about £30 each way, this is instead of the £45 at the airport).

You do it either when booking, or before checking in online - with jet2 you can check in online from 28 days in advance and if you do it then, you can often get everyone sitting together without having to pay to choose seats.

At the airport, if you have hold baggage you then go to the bag drop queue to hand it over and then go through security with your cabin baggage as normal.

Thanks everyone, it's a package holiday, it appears we won't need to pay anything extra by checking our luggage in at the airport, I was getting a bit panicky there I think! When you've not flown for a while, you're not always aware of any changes that have been made, but we're good!
