Hello my partner and I are looking to book a holiday to Japan in October. There is currently no zika risk but what would happen if before we go there is a zika outbreak? Has anyone got travel insurance that would cover us if this happened?

*when I say travel insurance that would cover us, I mean a travel insurance policy that would cover this kind of issue!

Are you planning to TTC? There's no insurance to cover the effects of Zika to a fetus.

Zika in adults is usually asymptomatic. Mild in almost everyone else.

Why would there be a zika outbreak in Japan? Are they expecting one?

I was In Japan last month and there were signs everywhere saying there had been reported cases of zika

Yes TTC now! Sorry if i haven't been clear, I mean insurance if zika was reported between now and going and if we had to cancel could we cancel and claim back costs. I just don't want to book a nice holiday and then we can't go.

Patrick, Zika is a virus that we know spreads...and it is in asia to the south, not that far away!

Thanks QOD I'll see if I can find any information on that online.
