Where in Europe will I find safe, shallow beaches with water warm enough to swim in the summer? Can you please recommend a specific place/ beach?

Spain- Costa del Sol. Anywhere along the coast around Malaga / Marbella. But it does get very hot in August. Weather usually lovely May to end of September, and the sea is comparatively warm ( and gets warmer the later in the season you go).

Thats not what i am looking for, i am afraid. We were in Malaga last August. V disappointed with beaches- few steps and v deep wirh strong currents. No-one was swimming, people were in the water only up to knees. We travelled by car to nearby beaches, even a bit further to Cala del Cañuelo. Still not suitable for two primary aged kids, both good swimmers.

Puerto pollensa in Mallorca, specifically the wider sandy beach at the opposite end of town from the pine walk, very gently shelving, warm enough to swim in both times we went in late July. I'd also recommend Cala'n Bosch in Majorca which has the longest shallow cove i have ever been in, but as it is quite a small beach it does get busy in high season.

Sorry Cala'n Bosch in Menorca

Isla Canela in Andalucia
Very safe and 7 km of sand

Tsilivi in Zakynthos. Very shallow for a long way out. No stones or rocks.

BarbaraofSevillle · 29/04/2018 06:49

Cala D'Or Mallorca. Several small sheltered coves make up the Cala D'Or area.
