We were thinking of trying somewhere new this summer and Poland is supposed to be lovely. Any recommendations? DS1 is 15 and DS2 is 13.

Also, how do the prices compare to the UK?

What do you want to do there? Lazy time or intensive sightseeing? I'd suggent starting from north. Baltic seaside will be lovely, also v busy. Great beaches but water a bit chilly:). Spend few days in Gdansk region. Then down south. Do you want to go to Warsaw? We didn't go there, instead through Torun city to Wroclaw. 2-3 days in each city. Finished in Cracow . Salt mine www.wieliczka-saltmine.com, day trip to dunajec river cracowcitytours.com/en/tour/the-dunajec-river-rafting and maybe auschwitz.org/en/visiting/.

Cheap public transport, food and drinks. Hotels prices depend on standar

Not really into lazing about on beaches! I was thinking about one city and exploring that and it's surroundings - Cracow looks nice but I hadn't found the salt mine - thank you for that, and the advice on prices. Very helpful!

Cracow is nice for a weekend away, you can do a trip to Oswiecim camp is as well.
If your family is into swimming/sailing Poland has great lakes and sailing base that not many people know about.
Prices are definitely cheaper (horels, restaurants, petrol) than in the UK (London)
