Hi,

We've decide to do the holiday rather than christmas tradition this year. Where is a family friendly guaranteed hot destination?
Don't mind travelling

Looking for swimming, pools and relaxation! Not a christmas pudding in sight.

thx

South Australia. It's amazing at Christmas. It's not full of tourists either! The beaches are to DIE for and the wineries are incredible.

specialsubject · 27/04/2018 12:48

seconded - but the beautiful SA beaches and campgrounds get pretty full just after xmas with the locals!

bit of a journey if OP is in Europe and will be v. pricey for flights.

smilesandsun · 27/04/2018 16:04

thanks. I was thinking Asia is probably the furthest Id go. From there its another 9 hours or so, a bit too long

Singapore? Sea is mucky but if you can run to a hotel with a pool (Marina Bay sands....) that would work, and heat is guaranteed!

and oh, the food....

ShanghaiDiva · 28/04/2018 08:42

Thailand seems an obvious choice.
Cambodia - sihanoukville for the beach
Vietnam - phu quoc?
Philippines?
Langkawi?

RusholmeRuffian · 28/04/2018 10:31

Florida. I spent a lovely hot Christmas in the Keys once.

somewhereovertherain · 29/04/2018 11:43

Caribbean.

Pressuredrip · 29/04/2018 12:25

Canary Islands are about 21-25 all year round and much cheaper and closer than the other suggestions.

mummymeister · 29/04/2018 12:53

BELIZE - always going on about it but it is fabulous and great weather with loads to do. ziplines river floats, howler monkeys, manatee watching snorkelling in shallow warm water, mayan ruins and temples and I really could go on and on...

if not then Florida. we did the keys and it was great, really perfect weather as well.

wouldn't want to risk Europe or nearer because the weather is very topsy turvy at the moment. just got back from palma where I was expecting mid 20's/late teens and it was low teens and really unusually cold.

South Africa.

Florida Keys/Caribbean cruise. We did this at Christmas, and the weather was just perfect. Although it did get quite chilly in the Keys the following week apparently, so maybe we got lucky.

SeaToSki · 03/05/2018 14:44

British Virgin Islands, fab place and they need all the tourist pounds they can get after the hurricane.

Goldmonday · 03/05/2018 14:52

I'm in the same boat!

Canary Islands are perfect, not too long a flight and all year round sunny. We went to Gran Canaria last year and it was sun bathing weather.

Hersetta427 · 04/05/2018 16:35

We have done a few hot Xmas holidays. Been twice to the Maldives, twice to the Dominican Republic (although any Caribbean island would be warm) and a few times to Egypt (although this has the coolest weather - still mid 20's).

Vangoghsear · 04/05/2018 22:58

I suggest Goa

Hmmisthatit · 06/05/2018 08:05

We are off to Sri Lanka this year for a 3 generation trip.

I've been to Miami/ Keys and it was great weather. The year we went to Orlando it was cold the second week.

Whatalovelymug · 06/05/2018 08:07

Thailand.

MrsSnitch · 11/05/2018 08:07

Middle East - 7 hour flight to guaranteed sunshine and luxury hotels. If you avoid Dubai then can be good value for money especially in typically non tourist countries like Bahrain
