Hand luggage / make up

So it's been a while since our last holiday (6 yrs) and We're off in a few wks & can't remember what make up items you can take as in terms of liquids etc in hand luggage, I remember something about mascara / lipsticks being classed as a liquid, or am I wrong?

I'll probably put the majority of my make up in my suitcase to save the hassel, I could buy a mascara & lippy once through customs, but I'm likely to purchase new make up before we go so wouldn't pay out again. Im assuming face powder will be fine? I know I sound thick but I just can't remember what make up items are ok & what isn't!

You can take liquids, gels and pastes in hand luggage as long as the containers are 100mls or less and will fit in a clear sealable bag that is max size 20x20cm.

Face powder is not a liquud/gel/paste

Could you not just put all of your makeup in the hold luggage? Much easier if it's convenient.

They used to let you take more than one plastic sealable bag but now it’s one only unfortunately. As above, stick as much as you can in your hold suitcase. If you’re just taking cabin bags then buy shampoo, deodorant etc in duty free

I'm sure it's always been 1 bag each. Put anything you don't need for the flight in the hold.

We normally fly 2/3 times a year & I’ve usually taken 2 through dementedpixie & had no issue with that & seen quite a few others do similar. This year though at Gatwick they appear to be cracking down on it.

Lip gloss is considered a liquid, but lipstick is not. I'd never check in my make up in case my bag was lost/delayed. Disaster!

I would just put everything in the case. Saves hassle. The only thing I would take on is eye drops because my eyes get itchy flying. You just need to make sure they are in a small transparent sealable bag which can be bought at the airport usually

A small resealable freezer bag is around the correct size
