Travelling light - top tips please!

I am trying to change from travelling heavy to travelling light.

Need to pack for 8 days next week in villa in Spain. What do I take?! Should I be able to fit it all in a cabin size case?!

Work on a layer theory for clothes. One top per day, plus one spare. Trousers/skirts/shorts should last longer so don't need one a day. Use jewellry to vary similar outfits. Go for similar colours for your week's wardrobe - this helps to mix and match.

Decant toiletries in to smaller bottles (you can buy in Boots).

Check if they provide towels and hairdrier, these are bulky items.

Actually write down your list of what you need each day rather than vaguely wandering around putting stuff in a bag - that's how you end up packing loads of stuff you don't use.
