Baby carseat in SE ASIA

Hello

I am planning to go to SE ASIA (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore) with a 4.5month old baby. For safety reasons we want to take a car seat - and it is actually compuslory in Cambodia and Singapore now. To avoid taking too much ideally I want a car seat that car be fixed using a seatbelt (not isofix only) and that car recline so we can attach to a buggy base for naps and not have to take another push chair.

Any suggestions? I am struggling to find any car seats that actually do this!

Thanks

I don’t think exists, unless things have changed since I had my DD 10 months ago anyway. A basic maxi cosi will have the seatbelt attachment option but I think all of the lie flat car seats like the Kiddy Evo Lunafix for example need isofix. At 4.5 months I don’t think you need to worry about time in a car seat like you do with a newborn so would just taking a basic maxi cosi seat you can do with the seat belt be an option? I’ve done this for DD on holiday before but she was closer to 6 months.

Also, as an aside FIL spent some time in one of those countries on your list and was told he didn’t need seatbelts in his new car and a lucky number plate would be a much better option, glad to see times have changed Grin

I don't think the reclining infant car seats are the type you can clip onto a pram.

I had a basic Joie car seat from Argos which was seatbelt only for about £40 which I used for travelling.

Thanks :)

After much research I actually managed to find one seat that fits the criteria - Britax Baby Safe i-Size - incase anyone else is looking :)

Was about to say my sister had one- thought it was a britax or Jane one..!

Anyway, leave it in the hotel if you can and pop dc in a pram- I live in one of those countries and it is way way waaaaay too hot to have baby in a car seat for longer than the car journey.

Shout if you need to borrow anything on your way through Wink
