We are going to Puerto Banus with family this summer staying in a villa. Our DD will be 2.5 and 10 months. Already saying we don’t have a clue where to go Oct /land next year. Not UK.

Our best holidays with under threes (had 3 under 4!) were Maldives and Morocco. Basically places where the DC were indulged and would splash about by the pool or sea collecting stones and shells for hours on end. Actually thinking about it, they were happy anywhere with water (be that puddles, sea or a pool - indoor or out) and things to collect.

At that age, it is whatever it takes to chill for a bit. If you need all inclusive for that with day long child care, that is it. Equally you might get as good a holiday camping.

In the UK, though I know it is not what you want, Luxury Family Hotels were a lifeline for us at that time.

We took DD to marrakech when she was 15 months and it was amazing. The staff at our hotel (Jardins de la Medina - honestly can’t recommend it more highly) absolutely doted on her, happy to make up food not on the menus for her, brought her little gifts everyday to entertain her, it was wonderful. She gave lots of the staff hugs and kisses before we left. Lots to do and see she loved being out and about in the Souks in her buggy and she was very happy to play by and in the pool and run around the hotel gardens looking for the hotels moggy. We are considering going back again this year as it was just so relaxing and lovely. We went in December and it was temperatures in the low twenties which was perfect for her - although the locals thought we were mad having her out and about in T-shirts as they were bundled up in puffer jackets!

For me, all inclusive is a must - unlimited food and ice creams
Somewhere with a pool and play area
Not too long a transfer from the airport!
