Weekend in Lille, suggestions?

I am going to be visiting Lille for a short weekend break and was looking for recommendations of things to do, must see places to visit etc.

Looking at travelling on the Eurostar so any recommendations of accommodation would be appreciated

Hotel Brueghel is a great mid price hotel in the centre. Not been for a few years but they did a very nice breakfast.

The Western Premier Why Hotel Best Western Premier Why Hotel Best Western Why Hotel is very funky and great value. Don't be fooled by the Best Western bit, it's not chainy at all. It's very central too

Lovely but it's not very big. We went to the Christmas market and drove over with a cheapo ferry

Yes, it’s a nice northern French town. Compact and cheaper than Paris. A few nice places to eat, pretty old town, lively markets ( wazemmes and others). I like it. Really easy and quick to get to by Eurostar.
