I was hoping for some advice , I’ve booked plane tickets to Sardinia in October (really cheap flights)but now just looking for accommodation for 4 adults 4 children. Has anyone been ? Any advise? is a car nessesary?
We’re flying in to cagliari so probably want to stay that side of island . We’ve been looking at villas and air bnb would love a pool but again maybe not nessary if we’re close to beach. Any advice very welcome

We went to Sardinia in June and my advice would be you do ideally need a car to explore and get to the nicest beaches in the south of the island. I'd also suggest, unless you are very rich, perhaps not looking for a hotel with a pool. We only found one hotel with a pool that didn't cost the earth in the south of the island, and it wasn't a great hotel (there seemed to be a bit more choice in the north) - we wish we'd opted for apartments closer to the beach without a pool. Villasimius may be worth looking at. The beaches and see are far lovelier than a swimming pool anyway! Would love to hear what its like in October as we'd love to go back but limited to school holidays now and I wouldn't want to go in the summer as it would be far too hot / busy. Happy to answer any other questions you may have.
