We live in Kent and are looking for a last minute free activity getting there by train. Recently bought a railcard and am very excited!

The DCs are 9 and 11.

Is there much to do there? How much is free?

Been a couple of times and enjoyed it. It's a bit different to your average park. A couple of good playgrounds, one with a climbing wall and a couple of cafes. You can go up the Orbit or swim at the aquatic centre (think you need to book). Alternatively just wander round the different Olympic venues, you can watch people cycle round the velodrome for free. You can also do boat trips on the canal. It's a few minutes walk from Westfield so lots of places to eat and shop.
