Family travel websites

Hi mumsnet,

We're going on our first trip abroad for a looong time, with three kids in tow -- ages 8, 5 and 2.

What sites do you use when looking for inspiration and ideas as to where to go? Do you use 'normal' travel websites, i.e. for people travelling without kids, and then just make some mental changes to their itineraries and recommendations?

Or do you visit sites targeting travelling as a family?

So far I've been searching google for things like 'travelling with children', 'Lisbon with kids', and all I can find are blogs from other families who list activities they did. This is helpful, but I haven't been able to find anything more 'professional', e.g. written by travel writers, or journalists who give you ideas of kid-friendly things to do, places to eat, etc, but who also give you the rest of the travel info you'd expect to get in a travel website, or a travel article, e.g. a little bit of history and background to the place, weather, prices, etc.

Any help as to where I can go would be great!

Thanks :)
Sally

I use lonely planet as they have a section on travelling with kids which I can then combine with all the standard information provided.
