December holiday

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a holiday in December this year with a 4 year old. We loved our summer holiday to Crete but feel that it might be too cold there for a winter holiday. Has anyone visited Cyprus in winter? Or have any other suggestions for winter holidays which don't involve long haul flights.

If you want warm in December then its long haul or you take your chances on a medium 4hrs + flight destination like Cyprus. Some MN's have been lucky and its been 18 or 19 degrees and others say its cold with rain. Just got back from Mallorca and they had snow the week before we went so you cant be certain. Have a look at the accuweather website. you put in the destination and can go to the month and back through the years to see if it will be warm enough. remember also that none of the outdoor pools will be properly heated so if your 4 yr old likes a swim it needs to be somewhere with an indoor pool. I was going to say Florida and the keys because we have been at Christmas and it was low 20's and perfect. Once you are on a plane the difference between the flights isn't all that much.

Lanzarote all the way

Yes dittoo Lanzarote . You should still be able to sunbathe /swim from about 10 am to 4 pm. Cardie needed in the evening but still warm enough to take junior round the restaurants/walking along the promenade cos they love children there! Cyprus no good after November. Agadir in Morocco is also a possibility and not too pricey either. Cape Verde is possible but more expensive

Hurghada in Egypt will be quire warm.
Dubai is always great for some winter sun.
