Guernsey - some questions

With their VAT and duty-free status, is it cheaper to buy booze and tobacco on the island or on the fast-ferry?

Can anyone recommend any restaurants?

(Taking DH there for the day next Wednesday for his 40th!)

jodee, I think it might possibly be cheaper on the ferry. Why don't you have a look on the way there and then in the town and compare then? There is a nice cafe/bar/restaurant but I'm sorry, I don't know the name of it. However, it is at the bottom of the high street, quite near to the ferry. You get off the ferry, walk straight ahead and cross over the road and there's one there. Opposite is a bar with tables outside which are set high up like on a roof terrace. Sorry, this isn't very helpful and may confuse but just thought I'd mention it lol.

Thanks Delgirl - I will let you know if I find it!
