Hi

Been trawling online looking for our first holiday abroad in 15years and no further forward. Could really do with some advice.

Will be going early part of school holidays (July) - 2 adults and 1 teenager - am looking for somewhere near a beach but also nearby to other things to do/places to visit
Budget is around £2k
Would like somewhere no more than an hour transfer from Airport.
A friend recommended Portugal "strip"
Has anyone got any personal recommendations - Portugal or anywhere else shorthaul
Tried the local estate agents but not very helpful - suggested Russia or Norway??

Have a wee look at Corfu. Roda is fab if you like sandy beaches, Kassiopi if you like pebbly ones!! Obviously they are my 2 fave resorts but there are many more amazing places!

Costa de la Luz - gorgeous long sandy beaches. Can fly into Seville, Gibraltar or Jerez all just over or under an hour away depending on resort. We like to hire a car and explore - Seville is incredible, but so is Cadiz (less well visited and easier to get to know in a day). Roman ruins at Barbate, surfing at El Palmar, getting lost in narrow streets of Medina Sidonia or one of the other white villages, Sherry trail in Jerez, Horse-riding along the beach, treks in the national parks, you'll find so much to do! Wonderful seafood and tapas bars everywhere you turn. We are told it's the holiday destination of choice for residents of Madrid and Seville - escaping the heat of the cities.
