Quirky accommodation, probably North-ish

I'd like to book a fun self-catering place for a weekend in late June/early July, DS will be in school Fri and Mon so not too far (we're in the NW), DC are 6 and 3. It would be a birthday present for DH. We always used to take our family holiday at this time of year before DS started school and I think he misses it!
(We might take DS out of school on the Monday but probably not - we had an authorised skiing holiday in Jan and I feel this would be cheeky though he has 100% attendance otherwise).

Located just east of Pickering, The Old Station at Allerston offers three self-catering railway carriages which are perfect to stay in with a toddler. They have been fully restored, and each carriage is equipped with central heating, oven, hob, microwave, fridge, TV, DVD, radio and a bath with shower attachment. There are 2 and 3 bedroom carriages available. Just checked and one of the carriages has some availability for June. Outside, there are 2 acres of grounds for toddlers to play in with views of the open countryside. Each carriage has its own picnic table and BBQs are available. The platform is great for riding bikes and scooters up and down, and there is a selection of toys and games to borrow during your stay. The Yorkshire coast is just 25 minutes away.

Have you been Ricekrispie?
They look fun but you can only book for a full week even in term time sadly.

Yes I've been, without DC but I can't wait to take them there, they'd love it!

Maybe one for a summer holiday one year then!
I'll keep looking for a weekend though!

Have a look at studford luxury lodges. Perfect for what you are after. We had a weekend there with the kids recently and it was absolutely fabulous!
