Anyone know Sardinia??

Looking to go to Sardinia in October and would love any advice about areas to stay in. We want to be near a beach and be able to walk to a place to eat. Have looked at Cala Ganone or Orosei but not sure if they would be dead in October? We will fly to the North so don't want to go all the way south. Thank you!

I haven’t been there for years but love Sardinia. Cala Gonone is absolutely stunning, well worth a visit. I’ve only ever been between June - September so I don’t know what October is like, but the east coast is a very popular area especially with Italians so I can’t imagine it would be dead.

Alghero and that whole area of coastline is also a very safe bet interms of beach and restaurant scene. Sardinia is fairly small so it’s possible to drive around a bit.

We went to Alghero many years ago.
Absolutely loved it. The food, the sights, weather, it had it all.

I've been every year for the past 4 years. Absolutely love it. Alghero was our favourite. Wonderful piazzas, shopping, beaches are fantastic and only a boat ride away from some amazing coasts. We will now always opt for the North after trying the south (beautiful but we preferred the feel of Alghero)

We stayed just south of olbia one October. Weather nice enough to sunbath but cool wind and cold water. Very quiet everywhere, which we liked (beaches to ourselves!) But not many options on where to eat or get a coffee. Even on a day trip to Costa Esmeralda it felt deserted. So depends if you'd like or loathe that - we were happy to enjoy peace and quiet
