I'm trying to find out if Croatia/Slovenia are expensive as holiday destinations and I also need to find out roughly how much it is to get a train from Croatia to Slovenia. I know how long it will take but I cannot read Croat so have no means of working out the fare!!

had a fantastic slovenia holiday last year. we cabbed it around. very reasonable. e/g llubljana to lake bohinj was no more than 50 quid plus tip. can't remember exact amount, sorry. buses appeared good as well, but we were lazy with year old in tow and chose taxis. hth.

can recommend the hotel jezero in lake bohinj. a bit worn in but very good family atmosphere and child friendly staff. we had a family suite (two rooms + bath). also had excellent indoor pool.
