Worried I won't fit in plane seat

Hi.

I am terrified I won't fit in a plane seat. I am travelling in a 17 inch and 17.5 inch seat for different reasons. I am in the process of losing weight but don't have anymore time.

I wear a UK 26 and the pictures are for reference as I know everyone wears their weight differently.

I'm scared I will get kicked off or told to buy two seats (which I cannot afford). Anybody got any words of comfort?

Can you ring up the airline and ask them?

That might reassure you.

DragonsAndCakes · 06/04/2018 10:57

Can you measure it out and try and mock up a seat at home?

Aridane · 06/04/2018 11:00

Agree with suggestions to try a mock up seat at home. If it's tight / not achievable, phone up airline.

aisle seats are best as you have easier access and only one person next to you.

Who are you travelling with?

Who are you flying with? I was a size 28 once upon a time, but only found one airline where I really didn't fit.

I am flying with Ryanair. By not fit do you mean needing an extender or too big for one seat?

I did fit in the seat, but it was a very tight squeeze. That was with Tui though. I haven't flown with Ryanair, but I've been ok with everyone else.

Forget it and get going. I have a relatives who is 6 foot 8 and 25 stone. Booked on cattle class cheapy package, stewardess moved him with no fuss, he didn’t even ask, she offered

It was a very tight squeeze, and uncomfortable, but I did survive a 4 hour journey like that. Please try not to worry too much, l am sure it will be ok, but contact them if you are very concerned.

I am 6ft tall and a size 22 most of weight in my abdomen I was terrified for same reasons last year and was totally ok with Jet2. Phone airline for advice.

I am short 5"4" and once flew at size 26/28 and although a squeeze, I managed okay. Try not to worry I'm sure you'll be fine xx
