Hi,

I'm looking for a 2 night break maybe in Cheshire, Derbyshire or nearby. We have 2 and 4 year old. Never stayed in a hotel or B&B with the little ones always camping. So to be honest I'm wanting somewhere easy with the children. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance Smile

At first thought, it might seem absurd to stay in a youth hostel, but more and more youth hostels are targeting themselves at families. They have special family ensuites, games rooms, cots available, a kids menu etc...We've stayed in a few and they're so relaxed and friendly. I don't sleep under canvas so they're a cheap alternative. YHA Hartington Hall in Buxton, Derbyshire, even has an outdoor play area and is in a great location.

Center Parcs? There’s one in Nottinghamshire not far from Derby.

Following on from Ricekrispie22 try Casleton YHA too. It has large grounds for the DC to run around in and sheep.
Most YHAs sell meals now as well as having self-catering, so it's really easy.

Probably meant we love IT.
Need to wake up...

Hercules it is quicker to get to Leeds or Liverpool. When we get to Nottinghamshire we think of it as almost London. Derbyshire is a very large and long county. The bit next to Cheshire is in the North.

Baby what time of year are you going? And what sort of things do you want to do?

Herculesfan · 05/04/2018 07:19

@unescorted surely that depends on where the OP is coming from? I live in derbyshire and regularly make the trip to Sherwood Wood forest which I why I suggested it.

Thank you all very helpful. We like Derbyshire and Cheshire been a few times and always find lots to do. Has anyone found a particular good hotel or B&B suitable for little children. I will research the centre parc and youth hostel as I hadn't considered these. Many thank
👍😊
