Late night flight arrival at Girona airport - are there buses to centre?

Hi, I have a flight to Girona booked which is due to arrive at 23:40 - there seems to be conflicting info online and I cannot get the bus company site to work.

Some places say last bus is 00:15 which seems to be cutting it fine, but other places it says the buses will wait for the (Ryanair) flights. I don't want a bus or transfer to Barcelona though - just to Girona centre. (Most people seem to use the airport for Barcelona, I guess because Ryanair calls it 'Girona Barcelona' even though Barcelona is miles away!

Should I just book a place near the airport for the first night or will there be public transport - in which case I would also need somewhere near the bus/station that allows late check-in, if anyone knows of somewhere cheapish - just need a place to sleep for first night, am already sorted for the other nights from the 30th onwards...

Could you just get a taxi?

I could but am on my own and on a budget, so might be quite pricey? From Googling I got about 40 euros to centre including weekend or late hours surcharge? (I arrive on a Sunday night). I think cheap hotel room near airport then getting bus to town in the morning might be easiest?

Surely a taxi will be more expensive than a hotel? We got to Girona at about 01:30 once (flight delayed so factor that in) and I don't remember it being too expensive.
