Did you feel safe if you’ve done this ? Any tips?
Thanks

Hi, I haven't been but know friends who have been a few times, including with their grandchildren and felt very safe.. Their photos were amazing btw.

You will need to decide if you are going on the Northern circuit where it is typical to do a drive safari i.e. a tour operator will drive you around from place to place and you can visit Ngorongo crater, Serengeti etc. Or a safari in the south (Ruaha etc) where you would typically fly from camp to camp and it is a quieter area.

I would advise that you check what vaccinations etc are required and read up on malaria risk etc to make sure you are comfortable with that, especially if travelling with DC. You can also check yourself whether particular camps have mosquito nets and certain times of year are higher risk for malaria (i.e. wet season).

Firstly, don’t go in the wet season. It will be miserable. Secondly - yes it’s safe.

We have been to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and also Lake Manyara. Selous is probably worth visiting too. The key to Tanzania is timing it so the wildebeeste are in the Serengeti and not in the Mara in Kenya. They also migrate within the Serengeti. Do your homework. There are some good web sites that give the best camps for the time of year and what you might expect to see. I highly recommend the Ngorongoro Crater. It is truly wonderful.
