I want to go somewhere new and amazing, but our budget only stretches to Europe. With 4dc we tend to do ferry/ drive as flight costs add up, especially in school holidays. We’ve visited France (Brittany, Ardennes, DLP), Black Forest in Germany, Veneto in Italy, Austria, Netherlands, and Andalusia in Spain. I’m a bit stuck where to look at for this year. Dc are 4,6,11 and 13. Am thinking Corsica is a possibility if I can find cheap flights, but I’d like more options! Any suggestions? Not lazing by the pool type holidays, though a pool is essential for the dc!

Have a look at this a Landal Greenparks site in Denmark. It might work really well for your family. Landal is really good value for money and there are several 6-person bungalows on the site.
The indoor swimming pool complex is the big draw with two flumes, wave pool, rapids, water jets etc... There are also other activities such as crazy golf, bowling, indoor jungle gym and trampolines.
The flagship Legoland is within easy day-trip distance, as is the coast and lots of other good days out.

Sardinia? Lanzarote?

Will look at Denmark, though not sure if we wouldn’t like a bit more sun. Lanzarote’s Brits abroad reputation puts me off a bit, though I imagine there’s better parts?

Portugal? Croatia?

We stayed in an agriturismo in Sicily. Youd need to hire a car though as public transport is terrible there.

Other places our kids have loved
Sweden
Verona
Montenegro

This year we're going to Portugal as it's really cheap. Lisbon and Aveiro. We got three bed Airbnb apartments for about £80 per night.

Or how about mainland Greece? Money seems to stretch quite a long way there and there's a good mix of history, culture and beaches.

The Amalfi Coast is beautiful, lots of places to visit such as Capri and Pompeii. If you can get cheap flights to Naples and stay in one of the smaller villages along the coast. Also, there are some beautiful places in the South of France particularly around the Côte d’Azur and Provence.

Venice is fantastic. Great beaches along the Lido and lots to do in the city, from boat rides to mask-making, ice-cream sampling to island hopping.
Iceland? Swim in wild, natural hot pools, visit geysers and volcanoes, feed the miniature horses, stand on two continents at once, walk up to the waterfalls, watch whales. Cheap flights and very friendly country.
