Have you looked at superbreaks.com? We do this fairly frequently - they do excellent deals with dinner B&B in really nice hotels at special rates - really good value. You can book spa treatments in advance in the majority of 4 star hotels that have a pool and health club.

Also, hilton hotels do "deal of the week" - a similar scheme.

If you book the the B&B deal, they will usually upgrade you to dinner for an extra £20 and the meal is a 3 course high quality meal in the restaurant - you just pay for drinks.
I will just have a look at the manchester ones, if i see anything i will post again - but if you google superbreak you should be able to have a look.

Have just looked on www.superbreak.com manchester area. There are lots of really nice hotels, starting from around £35 per person per night.

What you do is look into it all and check facilities, availability and prices on line. Then telephone the booking office and ask about upgrading to dinner as well, and they are very helpful, and will usually phone the hotel and ask about spa treatments etc and give you the contact numbers. The therapists will often book a block session for you if you can arrange in advance.

I have been doing these weekends a couple of times a year with female family members, and we always have a great time.

Is Leicestershire too far? I'm off to Champneys with my friends for 2 days and a night.

We all have our own rooms, lunch, 3 course dinner, breakfast and lunch again included. Also get a massage and full use of pool, spa, sauna, steam and all excercise classes, free robes - for £140 standard price. We're paying a bit less due to a special offer which they often have.

Have been before and it is really lovely and relaxing. You just float around in your robe, reading, snoozing, relaxing, having treatments. Bliss!

The Quay hotel and spa at Deganwy, near Conwy in North Wales is lovely. Went the other weekend with my DH. The spa was the best I've ever been to and the location is lovely, right next to the sea. Food is great. Would love to return with the girls.
