With minimal flying time? Anywhere closer than the canaries but with guaranteed pool/sunbathing?

Majorca? Only two hrs flying time, but you will have to check the weather. I've not been in October.

Closer than the canaries is dodgy for weather

Sputhern spain might be ok, might not

No guarantees. Thats the way the planet tilts.

We've been to Malta and Gozo in October and it's still been 30+. Sea nice and warm too.

ApplesinmyPocket · 25/03/2018 18:31

We often go to the Algarve first week in October and it's usually plenty warm enough to sunbathe or swim in pool and sea (though the Atlantic is colder than the Med.) Lovely beaches and pretty cheap.

Southern Greece!

Anywhere closer than the canaries will be risky weather wise. We've been to mainland Spain several times around October / November, sometimes it's been scorching other times we've had bad weather & chilly. Just depends how you luck out really

Marrakesh? We went for the last two years in October. Weather was lovely and a lot of the hotels have water parks.

Sicily can be gorgeous in October.

BarbaraofSevillle · 27/03/2018 06:52

Whether you mean early or late October is probably significant. Greece, Scicily, Malta, Algarve and Costa del Sol probably very good chance of being mostly hot and sunny in early October but if you mean half term, quite likely to be cooling off and more chance of rain.

Sicily

We own a property in Southern Spain on the Portuguese border and we usually go for October half term.
Always warm enough to swim ( although my kids are quite tough) and shorts weather some days. It has occasionally reached 30 degrees but usually around 25.
