Where in France? Gite recommendations please

Have been to Dordogne and Languedoc and loved these places.
It is going to be a stressful summer with university admissions and we can only go for a week and would like to go to France again. Would love to try another area of France - we tend to do things as family and not too much bothered about other children in the gite ( eldest is 17), but would like decent swimming pool and some historical place/ theme parks/ area of natural beauty to visit within short distance. We would predominantly stay in the gite as the eldest may want to do some work ( hey, wishful thinking😉).
Please can someone recommend a place and also a gite to stay, need to book this as soon as possible

I can't recommend a particular gite but what about the Loire Valley (which if full of gites). Lots of things to do and see, not magnificent scenery but very pretty. Not many theme parks but Futuroscope is close and very good. Also very nice wines if you are a wine lover.

I was going to suggest the Loire valley too. We stayed near Saumur and went to the stunning Chateau d'Usse which was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's castle. Futuroscope is amazing and Parc Terra Botanica isn't far either which is well worth a day out.

Thanks for the recommendation and am going to look for a place to stay.

No specific recommendation but the Gites de France website is great, we've rented through them many times. For example Burgundy or Languedoc Roussillon.

...... or Loire even Grin.

We stayed here a couple of years ago, and loved it. There are a few gites, and a small camp, site. It is well run by a fried Ly English couple. They organise a couple of evening meals if you want to,socialise with the other people on site.

There's lots of pretty chateaus around,,as well as vin yards etc, whichnalloffer tours, and wine tasting. Le Mans isn't too far away away either. There's a superb tank museum in Samuer, and I don't normally like that sort of thing.

So another vote for the Loire valley...

Thanks all, good suggestions.
Have to look at the flights to make sure hat we don't have to travel long from the airports

Not a gite but stayed in the premium mobile homes here and a 50 metre pool with waterslide in on site. Near to St Tropez. Walk to beach. Rock band playing once a week. Premium mobile homes very spaced out, massive TV, and very well fitted out. Not far from airport.

What about the vendee? The Puy du Fou is a fabulous historical theme park. Lots of places have pools ( but make sure they heated) flights to La Rochelle then a 45min drive to Fontenay le Comte.

Thanks for all the suggestions, have booked a gite in Cevennes National Park but would bear all your recommendations in future.
The gite owner may have not confirmed it yet so fingers crossed
