First time abroad, where to go and which travel company?

I’m looking to book a family holiday for October but I’m a bit nervous because I’ve never travelled abroad. I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for travel companies to use or places to stay? It’s all a bit daunting when you’ve never done it before

Wha is your budget and what do you want to do when you are there? Beach/visit/culture:waterparks ...

October? Maybe you could go to the Canary islands? Start by buying or borrowing a good guide book, that's a classic way to getting to know your holiday location.

As you haven't been away I would make things as simple as possible and book a package holiday with the likes of first choice, Tui, Thomas cook or similar. For october I would probably choose somewhere like Cyprus as the weather will still be lovely.
