has anybody been to Zante, alykes specifically?

we are wanting to book something cheap and cheerful for half term but it's more than 20 years since I went to this island and I expect that it's a bit busier now! We are 2 with an 8 year old dd. any recommendations welcome!!

I've been to Alikes/Alikanas but over ten years ago. Loved it, it was peaceful, sleepy in the day but lovely restaurants and a bit of nightlife, bars etc at night but no clubs. Fond memories of sitting at a beach bar at night listening to the waves lapping the shore getting nicely sloshed! Would love to go back.

We also stayed at Alikanas (small village outside Alikes) on our honeymoon 19 years ago. Very quiet place but there was some building work going on then, so I agree that it may have changed.

From what I remember, most of the watersports, nightlife etc. seemed to go on further along the coast at Laganas. There might be more there for the little one. You could also take him/her down to the south of the island to see the turtle nesting site! (Not that we saw any when we went
