Bruges, Munich, Tallinn or Salzburg?

For three nights without children in December.
Sorry, fully expect to be ignored or told to make my own decisions but thought I'd give it a try! I got this short list from an earlier post.
We'd like to walk around the city, eat good food, drink good wine and laze around in bed. I'm not great with really big cities but I love smaller, picturesque ones.

Hey! I would recommend Tallinn! I had to go there for a conference and had a few days at the end to enjoy it. It really is a hidden gem that I never would have thought about visiting before. It is a small city but beautiful and quaint. There are enough good restaurants to see you through three days and plenty of attractions to keep you busy. We, too, like to laze around in bed and then head out for a bit in the afternoon/ evening and Tallinn suited us perfectly. If you decide to go, look out for a company doing free tours of the city, led a local who speaks perfect English. Also try the medieval themed restaurant Olde Hansa. We stayed at the Nordic Hotel Forum which was very close to the picturesque city centre. It was a good hotel, but very Scandinavian in that it had wooden floors rather than carpet. I wouldn't really recommend Munich, as it just doesn't have the wow factor of Tallinn. Have heard that Salzburg is very pretty, too.

Bruges and Tallinn are two of my favourite cities. Both will be cold but Tallinn will be bloody cold and probably snowy so for December I would go to Bruges. Easily walkable and so pretty.

I live in Munich and know Salzburg well. It’s only an hour between the two on the Intercity train so you could potentially do both. Nice Christmas markets in both.

Bruges is beautiful. One tip (of sorts):

AVOID this restaurant. Look at the "Terrible" (1 star) reviews and read the owner's responses. The owner treats parents and children like . If you're treated like this anywhere make sure you write a Terrible review, families shouldn't be treated like this!

Leuven, which is small, walkable and has a great Christmas market. I would also look at Vienna which has great cafes and cake (Cafe Central in particular), is easily walkable, and very friendly. I think Bruges is too touristy. You have easy access to Brussels and the Christmas market there from Leuven as well.

In 3 days you could do Munich and Salzburg, both very different but great cities, I love Salzburg in particular, it’s really pretty. I think the IC trains do it in an hour, and close to two on regional trains.
