Looking to book this place tomorrow for next year as I can't go abroad this year (pregnant and a high risk ) but have never been to this place. We went to Cala'n forcat last year, but this on the other side of the island.

we had a villa just down the road from there, to be honest when we priced it up it wasn't any more expensive to have a villa with a private pool throu jamess villas thou we booked our flights throu monarch. its a nice area been there twice.

onlyjoking9329 · 08/05/2007 21:28

we saw a video online somewhere of the complex, the beach is down 170 steps thou there is a land train too

SparklyGothKat · 08/05/2007 21:28

i guess it depends on the time of year, the season runs may til october, we have done both ends of the season, there is a spar opposite the appartments and a soft play place a short walk away, the beach is lovely but the walk up & down the steps is hard work.

onlyjoking9329 · 08/05/2007 21:52

we usually provide the entertainment, in fact we usually ARE the entertainment

SparklyGothKat · 08/05/2007 22:11

we did oct last year and found that everything was closong down for the season (last week of the season) which was gutting. we are hoping for may 08

we did last week of april and first week of may and lots of things were still closed, the land train was not running and the pulpo restaurant {our fav} was closed.
we have done the last 2 weeks of october and things were winding down but still open

onlyjoking9329 · 08/05/2007 22:16

i would go for mid/end of may cos first week everything was closed.

SparklyGothKat · 08/05/2007 22:22

we were hoping for the 5th may for 2 weeks, will everything be closed, I need the train as DS is disabled

yes i know you have 2 with CP which is why i mentioned the beach. if the apartments are open you will be ok, they were just getting them ready when we were there.
my friend went with her 3 , one of her DDs uses a wheelchair, they hired a car thou.

SparklyGothKat · 08/05/2007 22:33

DS uses a wheelchair for distances, dd1 is quite mobile. I knew about the steps but saw that there was a train and a bus from the apartments to the beach. When we went to Cala'n forcat last year the travel agent failed to mention that the beach was down lots of stairs with no other way down.

unfortunely Cal'n porter is the only one that is in our price range this year. We loved menorca last year, it really is beautiful

we like it there cos when we go on holiday we don't like to drive, the caves are lovely but sadly lots of steps to get down to them.
weather is nice in may.
