Comptability golf mark 3 and graco rally sport

Hi all

We are contemplating exchanging my hubbie's clio (TOTALLY not child friendly) for an additional family car and are looking at the golf TDI (mark 3). We have a Graco ally sport car seat for 3yr old DS and before we traipse round all the dealers wondered whether any of you have a golf and a rally sport and if so is it OK? Would be looking at a 5 door hatch, not a golf plus, probably an 01 or 02 year. Any tips welcome!! Thanks in advance
PS We're not planning on having any more children and I have a vectra anyway so we don't need a bigger car!!

Have had 3 Golfs in the past, although not deisel. Have always been very happy with them and would have one again.

No idea on specific car seat, but we had an infant carrier and then a Britax Duo (isofix) in the Golf and both fit fine.
