Suggestions for an active or sporty holiday for family of three

We are stuck for summer holiday ideas this year for our family (me, DH and DS age almost 8) so I’m looking for some advice as I’ve got to the end of the internet! For the last few years we’ve gone to stay with family in Los Angeles and loved it as there’s so much to do. However due to various reasons we’re not able to stay with them this year. We went to Tenerife last summer to a lovely hotel and while my DS liked the pool and meeting friends my DH and I were bored within about 2 days as we don’t really sunbathe (both had dodgy moles removed) and hate lazing about all day. We really fancy a more active holiday with planned sporting activities that’s family friendly but I don’t really know where to start looking.Mark Warner holidays looked good but they only have a few resorts in Europe and one of them is Turkey-not sure how safe I would feel going there.
Any advice anyone? I think I would like to go abroad as I like the heat and don’t want to risk staying in the UK. Budget is about £4,000 ish. Thanks!

Neilsons are a bit like MW, we love them.

Hopefully this will suit you www.clubmed.co.uk/r/Napitia/y
Sunshine guaranteed but it won't be too hot to do the activities.

I’d look into one of those sail-as-crew type holidays.

Do you like water sports/Sailing? Ones to consider might be the Rockley watersports centre in sw France or Minorca Sailing holidays.

These two are something our family would do if we had the budget. We have 3 dcs and the smallest is a bit too young also.

Also, I might look at walking/cycling/kayaking trips.

These are not something I have direct experience of, but as a family something I know we'd enjoy.

2 years ago we went to this campsite (we took our caravan, but they have some holiday lets), cycled along the side of the lake to Annecy, came back via boat, went up into the mountains via chairlift for spectacular views, visited caves, played on the lake in boats all day etc. A day trip towards Chamonix to walk in the glacier cave would be do-able too. www.camping-lac-bleu.com/en/

We have booked Simply Morzine for this summer. Ski resort in the winter in summer they have cycling, white water rafting a big communal pool and other stuff. Looking forward to it.
