Myself and DP are looking for a holiday for April. I will be around 26 weeks pregnant so this obviously plays a part in where we choose. We just wanted a weeks holiday before baby is born. I looked at Cape Verde, New York (put off by weather and lots of walking about worried I wouldn’t see as much as I wanted). Struggling to think of any other suitable destinations. Wanted something a bit different and perhaps relaxing/romantic/different excursions to go on.

How about Marrakech in Morocco? It will be nice and warm, not much time difference, lots of markets, palaces and gardens to wander around.... you can get excursions into the Atlas Mountains, desert and Berber villages. There are loads of spa hotels but a more romantic option might be a traditional Moroccan riad. This might give you some inspiration www.theguardian.com/travel/2014/oct/13/top-10-riads-marrakech-morocco

April is a bit tricky for warm weather unless you do long haul. The Caribbean would be ok and islands like Antigua have English Harbour and a few more interesting places to visit. Also Barbados. Mexico might work and Morocco is definitely worth a look and the flying time is less. A longish overnight flight gets you to Cape Town or you could consider the Kenya coast. Both are only about 2 hours time difference. You could go also go down to the Florida Keys.

Wherever you go, take out comprehensive health insurance. The quality of health care available at the destination might be worth a look too. We did a week in Italy which was brilliant. I was about 5 months. I could get home easily if I needed to!

I'm going to Marrakech in April (the very end) and will be about as pregnant as you, so am hoping it will be fine! We're very exited. Lots of stuff to do including gardens and markets to stroll in, no Jetlag, lots of warmth, relaxation and good food (also not centred around alcohol), as well as a new cultural experience for us. We've found some great deals.
