Help me compile the essential holiday packing list!

Obviously clothes for the weather but what else do you need on holiday (to avoid packing too much!)

I pack light.

Put everthing you think you need on the bed.

Half it.

Double the amount of money

I once went backpacking for a year with 3 pairs of knickers - even I realised I hadn't got enough so had to cave in and buy two more pairs

whre are you going and how old are your children

Wales/borders for 7 nights / 8 days,Kids are 5 & 7.

I was wondering about some kind of general list though and then anyone can print it off and just ignore stuff they don't need!

I always forget;

Mobile charger
battery charger
camera

• underwear
• socks
• pjs
• warm clothes/tshirts and shorts if it's warm
• toothbrush/paste
• calpol/painkiller/first aid
• suncream????
• rainproof jackets
• ask your dc which toys/books they'd like to take
• food for the journey and water

always forget tooth brushes and have to buy new ones too (clean teeth after packing and forget to add them!)

Meds I'm not too bad at we have a bag full of stuff cos of allergies

Also it depends how old your DCs are - they'll need less as they get older, but when they're babies there can be a lot more you need to take. I've got a 'master list' that I print off and cross out the stuff we don't need (it has winter and summer stuff on, and don't always need both), then a column to tick when stuff is packed.

Thats what I need!
