Ideas for holiday with teenager

Looking for somewhere for myself and my OH and teenage son which really means two separate rooms (which puts cost up). Ideally we would like something with activities for him and near a town where we could wander in to. Any ideas welcome please

The voyage Belek in Turkey (a family room has 2 bedrooms) or a 1 bed apartment at the Globales bouganvilla in majorca (has a double bedroom and a trundle bed in the living room.

Sorry to butt in on thread but we are also wondering this,ds is 15. DP not keen on Turkey . Majorca could be a possibility if resort not too busy .

Any other ideas ?
Thanks

Really struggling to find somewhere that's not £££ . We are going straight after GCSEs so I thought it might be a bit cheaper. Also trying to find somewhere where a teenager won't get bored and we can do our own thing at times.

Cheap flight to a city with lots to see and do. Stay in an air bnb.Somewhere small and safe enough for him to have a bit of freedom to do some things on his own.

Copenhagen, Lisbon, Florence....

Centre parks in Belgium or Holland?

NoCureForLove · 10/03/2018 07:24

Bruges, Amsterdam...

@Colette My OH didn't fancy Turkey either (not sure why) but I'm looking at places there now as it seems better value for money for the two rooms I need to book. Trouble is I don't know anything about Turkey. Anyone got any recommendations please?

We're going to the Alps as soon as GCSEs are finished. DH and DS want to go mountain biking, I plan to sit by the town outdoor pool.
We're staying in a nice little town, so lots of restaurants and bars.
There are other activities and we aren't too far from Geneva for a day trip.

It's been very difficult to find something that suited the 3 of us.

I too am interested in this thread. I need to find a holiday for myself and a 15 year old boy who loves Watersports. I need somewhere with teenagers.

ChrissyHynde · 10/03/2018 08:36

Try alpine elements holidays . Recommend morzine and les gets apart from not sure about the 2 rooms

a lot of the ski resorts have summer adventure type holidays which have a lot of variety for all ages, the weather wasnt the best when we visited though but it depends where you go

our teens loved alfresco/canvas type holidays some sites have really spacious 3 bed lodges/chalets so plenty of space on sites but there is so much to do on the sites you dont even spend much time inside, they use to meet a lot of friends on sites and they enjoyed the freedom

Thanks for all the idea s ,I'm going to look at them later today. It's good to hear it's not just me finding it difficult !

If you are looking at Turkey I’d highly recommend Dalyan (found it myself thanks to Mumsnet!). I can’t recommend a hotel because we rented a villa, but it’s a laid back little town on a river. You can take a bus or a boat to the most beautiful beach.

There’s loads of activities that a teen boy would enjoy- we booked several through Volkan’s Adventures. If you look up his website it’ll give you a feel for the area. There’s snorkelling, endless boat trips, canyoning, off roading, Roman ruins, etc all in beautiful surroundings.

Ooh I have lots of recommendations for hotels in turkey

Aqua fantasy
Pegasus world
Pegasus royal
Voyage belek
Trendy Lara
Barut Lara

If I had to pick an area I would say the belek/ side area. Have a look at land of legends. It is an awesome water based theme park in belek which is a superb day out.

Haveca look at Theodora's and Fiona in Roda, Corfu. Family place but usually lots of teens and they do entertainment etc. Roda is big enough to have lots to do but small enough for teens to have independence without getting lost!
