Yes, beautiful hotel and amazing food. Only issue is that the water in the infinity pool is very cold and quite difficult to get loungers around the other pools unless you are up early! You also need to get up early if you want to eat in anywhere else than the main restaurant as you need to go to the machine in reception to book. The Italian restaurant is amazing and you can eat fillet steak every night all inclusive if you so wish! Would recommend. It may be cheaper to book directly with the hotel I think it is called the Grand Melia.

We went in September 2015, so it was coming towards the end of the season. It didn't seem that busy, could always get a sun lounger. And they don't let people reserve them before a certain time.

Lovely hotel, food and drink was some of the best we've had on all inclusive (apart from Dubai, but that's hard to beat!). Definitely worth doing, not much for kids though, much better as couples only!

I thought there were kid's activities?

We'll be 3 adults and 2 DCs age 10 and 12.

Thanks for great recommendations!

Unless they have moved it, be aware it is a car trip to the beach.

BaconAndAvocado · 06/03/2018 20:21

special this is still the case.
We don't mind that.

We're really after something a bit special to celebrate my 50th and DS1's 21st birthdays.

Good - as they seem to gloss over this fact! Have a great time wherever you end up.

Jassmells · 06/03/2018 22:04

Been 3 times, it's great, it even smells lovely!

Never had an issue with getting sunbed but we have tended to be at the kids pool most of the time. Restaurants great, Italian hard to get in but personally I prefer the Oasis Grill and Market Grill nearer the infinity pool and sea front. Nursery v good but if you want to use it book in advance.

Food all lovely, breakfast probably the best I've ever seen the choice is ridiculous.

Generally really lovely people at the hotel as well - aside from one lady once going round the pool asking if you wanted her to do a whiplash claim for you as that was how she paid for her holidays 😂

The town it's in is quite industrial, there is a shop a bit like Zara with a wander to though.

I would go back tomorrow if I wasnt tied to extortionate school holidays now.

Jassmells · 06/03/2018 22:05

Ps just seen the age of your kids there is also the older kids club run by Tui but they may be a bit old for but also loads of sports activities at their sports centre over the road.

BaconAndAvocado · 07/03/2018 14:07

Thanks jassmells
It sounds fantastic!

It's good but quite isolated. Creche was excellent

CottonSock · 09/03/2018 14:00

I wouldn't bother with all inclusive if I went again. When we went wine at meals was included with full board and they were generous with it

BaconAndAvocado · 09/03/2018 17:59

Maybe I should look at the difference between AI and full board prices......I don't drink much at all, but DH does like a fair few pints by the pool!

Apparently there's a great water park on the island?

Good for a day out.

When I was there it was maybe 3 years ago, we got bar credit of 12 euro a day approx for not having room serviced. I find room servicing a bit ott anyway, so we went for every other day. This covered our bar bill in total.
There is a cash and carry type supermarket next door.

Jassmells · 10/03/2018 19:56

Is full board plus if you book through tui so you get wine or beer with your meals, just pay for drinks at the pool and anything after meals. Our bar bill is never that much maybe £150 a week tops.

Kangar00 · 10/03/2018 19:58

Yes- took a 2 nearly 3 year old and paid for the nursery. It was a lovely nursery (better than her one at home) and not very expensive with UK staff but there were very few other children so she wasn't so happy. It's a confusing resort as sensatori is only part of the resort. Loads of pools and amazing food. I loved it. Would go back but would like to do car hire.

ohamIreally · 10/03/2018 20:26

Went about 5 years ago. Do join the Melia rewards scheme as you can amass points and get a late check out. I had enough points for a free night in Madrid. Infinity pool was cold but bearable I thought and there were other heated pools. Waiters were handsome Smile

CottonSock · 11/03/2018 09:05

One more thing I remembered. We hired a car from inside the hotel which had decent car seat fitted. Paid and arranged online from home.
