I don't really need a holiday, do I?

I'm sorely tempted to book a week in Majorca over may half term. So help convince me I don't need to. It would be awful, right? Dc are nearly 4 and 6. They'd moan and be constantly hungry. The flight would be a pain and I don't really like flying. It might rain all week. The hotel might be rubbish. I might get eaten alive by mozzies (I'm allergic) and we would no doubt visit the medical facilities for one of the dc; we always do. The food might be terrible. Dh hates being hot and doesn't particularly want to go.

Think of what else I could do with £2k. I need a new laptop (I don't have one).

Ooh but the beach, the sun, warmth, someone else cooking.... help!

If you go all inc. it would probably be a reasonable holiday. Get somewhere with a kids club, take a few hours to recharge.

It's amazing how different things seem when the sun is shining.

You're supposed to be putting me off! ;)

It's probably not going to happen anyway as I can't face convincing dh. The weather doesn't sound too reliable in May either.

The weather will be better there than here I bet. What about Greece or Tenerife? Would they not be warmer. The DC might moan all week anyway. The hotel won't be rubbish as you can look on trip advisor and look at its reviews before you book. There is plenty of good mozzie sprays get one with deet in it. DH can cool down in the pool.
Hope I've put you off Grin

It sounds like you need a holiday to get over all these issues Misty! I love going on holiday, book it and you might find DC/DH don’t hate everything/complain about everything as much as you think!

Maybe try canaries for better weather?

Uniglo18 · 18/03/2018 07:40

May is a better time to go for a sun beach holiday than July & August as the temperature will be soaring than.

Moaning about food - pack snacks in your bag for days out & ensure they eat well at breakfast

Boredom on flight - take activities/ preloaded tablets / music/ books to keep them amused

Insect bites - mix lavender or citronella essential oils with a carrier oil and spritz over your body liberally

I am just dreaming of a beach holiday right now in the Caribbean. I am desperate for some sun and feel
Like winter is been dragging on forever.

Don't be so negative you should go

Misty9 · 18/03/2018 11:44

It's not me who's negative - I bloody love holidays! Dh has vetoed anyway as predicted. But we are off to Scandinavia in the summer hols.

Still might book something last minute for may half term if I see it... Grin

If you are going, I'd go for Canaries rather than Majorca so you get more reliably good weather.
