Desperately seeking sunhat that DD won't pull off...

DD (10 months) rips off her sunhat at the earliest opportunity. Going to France in a couple of weeks and am trying to find a sunhat that will stay on her head (with elastic maybe, or ties underneath). Any advice, anyone?

gosh are you me?! lol we're taking dd (11 months) to france in 2 weeks and have now given up the search for the elusive stay on the head sun hat. we've got her a uv sun suit, and will slather the rest of her in sunscreen and keep her in the shade as much as possible. thought about trying bandana style hats but she takes those off too.

so let me know if you find one!

JojoMamanBebe do sunhats that tie under the chin. Dd kept it on last year but was only 6 months. Lots of colours and designs though. Will try to link...

luckylady74 · 04/05/2007 21:32

jojo bebe maman do one with ties

PestoMonster · 04/05/2007 21:33

Couldn't you sew a piece of elastic on her sunhat to keep it under her chin?

Olihan · 04/05/2007 21:34

Here you go

Olihan · 04/05/2007 21:35

Lol, LL, was going to suggest a stapler but thought that was too flippant .

DrippingLizzie · 04/05/2007 21:35

ruddynorah, that's spooky. Maybe you're that secret twin that I've always thought I had. Thanks for the advice though. Maybe a balaclava's the answer.

no she'd just take that off too. it's not that they fall off, it's that she pulls them off. thinks it's hilarious.

LilyLoo · 04/05/2007 21:36

niche in the market anyone thinking of starting own buisness ?

kidsrus · 04/05/2007 21:36

I haven't found a hat but a nifty device so you haven't got to pick it up from the floor all the time.
I use a key spring the key ring part threaded through the hat and the clasp attached to the pushchair.
Works well and makes you more persistant at keeping that hat on without all that bending.

ruddynorah · 04/05/2007 21:36

lol! we're off to stay at my dad's in brittany.

DrippingLizzie · 04/05/2007 21:37

Olihan - thanks for that link. That looks ideal.

Try this . Dd has occasionally got it off (by pulling it forwards and down), but mostly it stumps her, and she's very strong and determined (almost 15 months).

carol3 · 04/05/2007 21:39

dd2 at one,
would never wear a hat then took a fancy to grandpas flat cap and would never wear any thing else she looked so funny in her pretty frilly dresses with a grandad cap on her head,

DrippingLizzie · 04/05/2007 21:39

Interesting, Lilyloo..how's about an MN co-operative business? Anyone out there good with a sewing machine?

I've also got the one in Olihan's link, but only bought it recently, so haven't tested it properly yet. It is gorgeous though, and so is the matching swimsuit.

DrippingLizzie · 04/05/2007 21:40

Thanks, Carol3!
