Looking to go for a long weekend in Paris Friday to mondaytowards the end of June. Will be for our 3 year anniversary. Any suggestions of hotels we would like somewhere that is central or with good transport. Preferably 4/5 star willing to look at 3 star if any body can recomend a good one. Budget isn’t huge want a nice hotel for as cheap as possible. But I know Paris will be expensive. Any other tips will be of great use to.

I’ve looked online but would love some personal experience. Also any really fancy romantic places to go for dinner one night would be lovely.

I'd stay here and I'd go for dinner here which is close by. Great location - you can walk to Bastille, into the Marais up to the Canal St Martin. You are close to three metro lines including line 5 for the Eurostar or if you arrive at CDG airport.

We stayed at the Hotel des Grands Hommes (on tablet - can't do links) opposite the Pantheon in Latin Quarter. 3 star but lovely small hotel, very friendly staff, loved that we tried out our French on them. Rooms are small but v Parisian (fabric on walls); book a balcony room with a view of the Pantheon - lovely place to sit on a warm evening with a glass of wine, or have breakfast in the morning. Can't really recommend romantic restaurants but there are loads of options in the area and all budgets. Hotel v close to Jardins De Luxembourg with RER station/metro close by, and short walk down hill to Notre Dame and the river. Dh and I went last year for 20th anniversary and would love to go back.

Head up the montparnasse tower in the evening for a cocktail in the bar (don't pay for the viewing platform) the Eiffel Tower will light up and sparkle every hour I think - it's very romantic. Best go just as the little guy is fading to get a seat.
