Im looking at taking the kids to the canary islands in half term Ocotber, they will be 1, 6 and 8. Has anyone got any advice about where to go? Im finding it tricky to get a 2 bed apartments, pool not freezing, dont want it too remote and on a budget !

The pools are often cold by then ime because they only heat them in the high season.

Lanzarote is nice - Puerto del Carmen is the main resort with everything you'd need plus a massive golden sand beach. Costa teguise is smaller but has nice little beaches one of which is a lagoon with rocks around it. Both have tonnes of two bedroom apartments - look on that trip advisor site and holidays direct and check the listings to see how far from the beach you are. Airbnb too and there's also Spanish holidays. Com

I agree Lanzarote is good (been to all the others )

Ah they're all lovely really. I love the Canarian way of thinking - getting inventive about ways to circumvent the limitations of life in the middle of the ocean etc. They've even found a way of making wine in Lanzarote, despite having hardly any rain!
