Kefalonia - May

I was wondering if anyone has visited Kefalonia for the May half term and generally what the weather is like?

I have 2 pre-teens and although we are all keen to visit Greece, if the weather is rainy I can’t imagine that there is much else to do. The area looks stunning (not far from the airport) but by the looks of it would be a beach/pool holiday and therefore dependent on good weather.

Have been at the beginning of June a few times but not May. It's ridiculously hot in June so I think you'd be fine.

Where are you looking at?

Half term is end of May to beginning of June.

We were looking at Svoronata. I’ve read it is a quiet village with beaches with a few tavernas dotted around. I like the fact it is 10 mins from the airport so no long transfer. We would have a car so could explore some of the island.

But I would imagine that there wasn’t much else to do if the weather isn’t great.

I’ve been in May, and I cannot guarantee that you won’t have rain, although it is likely to be over in three hours and the sun will come out! But then DH and I were in Kefalonia at the end of August 2017, and the first morning we were there it rained until midday! The weather is getting more unpredictable in the med.

Best plan is to make sure you have things to occupy yourselves, and take kagoules/ponchos as when it does a downpour, it will soak you through!

To be honest there isn't much to do generally, and that's what's so nice about it.

Svoronata is nice; haven't stayed there but stopped in the car for lunch.

Lassi might be better incase it rains ...still near airport we were there in 20 mins but also near the big town of Argostoli more to do if it rains
