Club Med - Palmyre Atlantique or Cargèse?

We can only afford (just) to go to a CM within driving distance. Has anyone been to either of these resorts or know of anyone who has? Can't decide!

Also, how easy & cheap is it to take the car on a ferry to Corsica?

I've not been to either club but would have thought Corsica would be nicer as that bit of the Atlantic coast of France is not that great. In saying that, getting to Corsica may prove pricey. You may find it cheaper to fly than get the ferry. Best of luck.

Don't know club med

Atlantic coast of France nice, but I am in love with corsica.

Driving and ferry to corsica would be quite a mission though.

corsica ferries do several routes

as DEE says it would prob be cheaper to fly, but you would want to hire a car once there so that would add to your costs. Although I dont know how costs would compare in school holidays.

we are going there next month. Hurrah!!

I'd definitely consider flying.
It was a few years ago that we were there but the ferries from the mainland (SNCM) then were reminiscent of Sealink in the 70s - vomit buckets.
I think this year there are scheduled as well as charter flights to Corsica and the prices are bound to have come down.
Never been to either resort but they don't call it L'Ile de Beaute for nothing. Get there if you can!

I decided on Cargèse in Corsica. How could I not? It looks fabulous while Palmyre Atlantic looks quite barren & boring. So busted my hump to find a way of getting us on a blinking ferry without having to spend a night in Marseilles. Now it's done & dusted (but not yet paid for) & I'm like a child before Xmas! If we were going from the UK, I would have definitely found a way to fly but from Switzerland it should be a bit easier. I hope. Such an awful lot of money to spend on a holiday - hoping the weather will be good.

Good choice.

We have stayed near cargèse before. Village itself very pleasant, small, a few places to eat, a small port, nice views south across the bay.

It's a very quiet part of the island, I'm sure you'll love it.
