Holiday suggestions

DH has spent 3 of the last 5 weeks away moonlighting, leaving me home alone with DS (13 months). In that time we got snowed in so have been cooped up a lot.

I suggested to DH that we use a little of this extra cash to have a little weekend away somewhere, just the three of us, around April time. He says fine, so the question is where to go!

It will be our first trip away as a family so it's the first time I've had to think how we can get a break while still dealing with nap time, bath time, bed time, cooking baby food, etc etc etc. And it would be bliss to be able to go out for an evening meal after DS has gone to bed at 7pm.

DH won't want to drive far for DS's sake so I'm thinking maybe a short haul flight somewhere sunny (Lisbon is one idea), but flying with a baby is hardly relaxing. We're near Paris so perhaps a train to the south of France is also an option though must be west of Marseille to avoid evil MIL. Both DH and I miss living near the sea so beaches are always good for us.

Anyone got any suggestions for nice baby-friendly holidays? DH hates Center Parc type places, although maybe they're a good idea now we have DS. Hotels with a babysitting service could work but just wondered if anyone has found any little gems somewhere!
