Villa but on resort- is this a thing?

Thinking of doing a European villa holiday with friends in September/October. Would like warmth and they'll be 6 adults, 3 babies (between 4-10 months) and a 2 1/2 year old.
I'm inclined to think that just villa could be a bit middle of nowhere and having access to resort facilities could be good- specifically thinking toddler friendly swimming pools and play areas. Has anyone got any experience or recommendations? Is this even a thing?
Or am I better to try to find a good villa in a town so can walk to a play area or beach? So tricky- the toddler (and youngest baby) is ours so I know we will want different things to the friends- want to make sure there's stuff to do!

Look at Martinhal in Sagres, Portugal. It’s a bit windy (being right on the top of Portugal) but otherwise ticks all boxes.

Vale do lobo in Portugal would be perfect too.

You can get lots of villas with play areas and toys. Try homeaway and owners direct websites you can tick good for children in the filters. Cyprus a better bet for october november than Portugal

Yes this one is excellent in Cyprus: www.takethefamily.com/destinations/europe/cyprus/aphrodite-hills-holiday-residences

I personally go for ones this side of the ravine as then you can walk to the main square area. Car hire is recommended too yet they drive on same side of road so its dead easy! They have supermarket on site and you get to use resort facilities eg like paying for the kids club, football academy, horse riding etc. One of my favourite places I am going back soon!

Lanzarote has lots of Bungalow complexes which might suit if the unit size matches the family sizes. They are generally 2 bedroom, but might also be 1 or 3 bed. Weather in Lanzarote at that time of year would probably be perfect for you.

We stayed here. There were shared pools and there was a children's play park, couple of restaurants and naice Waitrose style supermarket just outside the complex. Probably 20-30 mins walk outside the main marina/resort centre, so you might want to look for something closer, try searching for Playa Blanca Bungalows.

I second Aphrodite Hills, we were there 2 years ago. In fact, Cyprus in general for that time of year.
