Sicily - May or October?

Just that really. We'd be going late May or late October, staying on the Western side of island. We'd want warmth - enough to do some sunbathing, swimming etc, but also not too hot for sightseeing etc. Can't decide when to book for!

Sea is still warm in October as opposed to nippy in late May. We've been twice - Oct half term on the West Side and Easter on the East Side. On the Palermo side, we rented this place and visited Trapani, Erice, Segusta, Palermo, Monreale and Scopello where we snorkelled off the old tuna factory pier. Discovered our love of Sicilian cannoli. Love Sicily!

Hi - thanks so much for your helpful reply. We were also looking at a villa near Scopello, though on closer inspection I'm not sure the area will give us what we need - it sounds amazing but travelling with a baby and toddler so would prefer sandy beaches. Do you think it would be a good area for young children?
