Parking at Gatwick for dropping off DS

I want to go into the terminal (South) for about 10minutes or so.
Where is the best place to park please?

Will it cost mega ££ even for 10 minutes?

On line, the official website is telling me that 30 minutes parking in the short stay car park will cost £18!!!

Do they not have a curb side drop off? You do have to be willing to drop and run but they’re usually free or only a pound or so

There is a kerbside drop off area which is free plus I think they now have a kerbside pick up area, follow signs when entering airport. However, police move you on fairly quickly so can't hang about waiting at pickup for someone to make their way out of the terminal building, they need to be there waiting for you.
